A blog devoted to sharing the journeys of my heart

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness, For His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23

Legend...

“It's gonna be legend-... wait for it... and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the second half of that word is DAIRY!” -Barney Stinson, How I Met Your Mother

My dear friend Nance and I have declared this summer to be legendary. Mainly because we are teachers and live an uneventful, mundane life 10 months out of the year... Everything we do is an adventure this summer. Yes. Everything.

So this is a picture documentation of the start of the Legendary Summer (a month ago...)

locked my keys in my apartment on a late Sunday night.

called the landlord, but they don't answer.
It was late.

sad.

So let's go somewhere!

and listen to classic 90's music (and yes, that is right. the night is STARTING at 11:38...)

and dance, dance, dance!

go to a late night showing of a movie...
order popcorn... and receive the extra, refillable large size for the low, low, price of the small

that's what's left after the movie. we ate a sixth... maybe.

What to do next?

how about 1/2 price shakes after 8!

 but there are 54 flavors!

How does one decide? Key lime pie? Chocolate, banana, peanut butter?

You listen to your heart...

And enjoy!

 Delicious!

Then you go and do other random things you should have done in high school... not as a 27 year old.
there may or may not have been a speed sign in Nancy's neighborhood...
just FYI, Nancy and I are pretty fast.

“In my body, where the shame gland should be, there is a second awesome gland. True story.”

Then you end the night with a high five... because the night was legendary.

more legendary summer updates to come...

  3. You know what would make the summer even more legendary? If we made a pie graph of our favorite bars.... or a bar graph of our favorite pies. The next awesome thing that we do should conclude with a "high 6" because I'm sure that it will be even more legen.... wait for it.
