A blog devoted to sharing the journeys of my heart

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness, For His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23

Could Life be Complete...

Life could be complete... I have three new loves. And I don't know how I have lived without them.

First...
Surprisingly enough, I have never been a chocolate lover... until recently. I can't get enough! My secret santa gave me a package of the Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate Caramels Squares in December... and they are now one of my new favorite treats. I have a stash of them in my desk at work... they make any day better. I love them. Try them.

Number 2...
I LOVE White Chocolate Mochas with Peppermint from Starbucks... Love them. However, they are the most fattening drink at Starbucks, so I cannot indulge often. But now, International Delights has come out with white chocolate mocha creamer. And it is delicious! Although creamer is not fat free, it is way better for you than the one from Starbucks... I am so excited about this find!

And last...
Yes, chocolate... do you see a pattern? I told you, I never used to be a huge chocolate person. I don't know what has come over me. I just crave it! This candy bar is not only delicious, but it has love poems inside. Real ones, not fortune-cookie-poems... this could be my favorite candy bar ever.

Ok, between my brownie batter cravings and these other chocolate treats... my new favorite activity will be running at the gym. :)

Kids

I love the innocence of kids...

I have a child in my classroom that fixates on words and things. The more excited he gets with asking and talking about whatever the topic of the month is, he inches closer and closer to your face. This child is absolutely precious... but knows no boundaries. at. all.

So, this week he was asking me about UK basketball bleachers. And like normal, the more excited he gets, the closer and closer he is getting to my face. Eventually he is about 1.2 cm from my face and smiles. Looking at me from the corner of his eyes... he says, "Ms. Paschal, Ms.,Ms. Paschal. You smell very heeeeavenly." And I think that is so kind of a 10 year old boy to say. So I start to reply, "Thank you, that is so tho-" "Yeah, yeah, it is because of your deodorant."

Golly, glad my deodorant is doing its job...!

"Click"

You ever get that "CLICK" moment when something all of the sudden just makes sense? It seems so simple, but it never made the connection in your head until a sudden, "CLICK!"

Tonight I was reading Isaiah and came to chapter 45 verses 18 and 19.

"I am the Lord, and there is no other... I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right."

And here is what hit me...

The Lord knows who He is. Over and over in Scripture He says, "I am the Lord." (Or some variation of that) God does not have any insecurity; there has never been a moment when He looks at Himself in the mirror and says, "Who am I?"

So why should I? God is who He says He is, and He knows who He is... there is no doubt. And since God's spirit lives in me, I can have the same confidence. God has not given me the insecurity, the anxiety, because that is not His character. He knows who He is.

"CLICK!"

Oh, how exciting!

Thoughts

Recent thoughts...

I have been dreaming chocolate lately... I have never, really, NEVER been a chocolate lover like many women. But lately...I can't stop eating chocolate. Especially, brownie batter. It's my new cookie dough... no matter how much I fight it, I am anticipating future tummy aches. This is when I wish I didn't live on my own and have the independence to do what I want... I need someone to say... "NO EATING BROWNIE BATTER! IT WILL MAKE YOU SICK!"
I am so glad LOST started back... It really is the best show I have ever watched. I have been anticipating it for weeks! It is finally here! Who is this pseudo John Locke? Is Claire coming back? Juliet? I can't take it!!!

I started reading a book called The Love Exchange. It is a book on prayer, and although I have only read half the book, I highly recommend it. It suggests taking 6 minutes a day to be intimate with God through prayer, through loving God and receiving God's love. I recommend it.
